What is the Farm Fresh?
A fundraiser to benefit the high school and middle school Gear Grinders for their next race season and to benefit mountain biking on Bainbridge Island. The teams are made up of Bainbridge Island high school and middle school students. However, we are not an official school-sponsored sport. All our funding for coach and rider development, transportation, equipment, and other supplies is through membership fees and events such as the Farm Fresh Bike Scramble.
Part of the proceeds will also benefit the maintenance and care for Johnson Farm through our partners Friends of the Farm.

Race Category Definitions:
- Competitive riders have previous race experience, have been riding all season long, love to ride fast, and can handle steep, technical terrain.
- Intermediate riders may or may not have any race experience, have enough saddle time on a bike to be comfortable and safe riding single-track, including steep and technical terrain.
- Beginner riders do not have any race experience, are still learning how to ride single-track, and are out to have fun and compete on a challenging course.
- Kid’s race and/Skills Course. A shorter race course for some fun on the single-track (parents can accompany) and a fun skills course in the orchard.
