Trail work parties
Trails need maintenance and Bainbridge Island needs more places to ride. We’re working to make that happen, and you can too. We require all student athletes to contribute six hours of their time off-bike to help build trails or otherwise promote mountain biking and the Gear Grinders. We welcome adult help on the trail parties, too. We work closely with the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District to repair trails and create new ones – in 2013, the Gear Grinders spearheaded a new trail at Fort Ward that all users are enjoying. In 2011-2012, the Gear Grinders reopened a neglected trail at Grand Forest North and have been maintaining since. Bainbridge Island Parks has a regular schedule of trail work parties.
Trail Work Party a Success!
Thanks to everyone who showed up on the 17th to clear the trail starting at Koura and Miller. It's a great trail--go out and use it!
